Good Neighbors of Groton: Murphy Insurance Agency
Protecting what matters — and supporting the communities they call home.
As GrotonFest Fall approaches, our Good Neighbors of Groton campaign continues to introduce some of the businesses and organizations that help make our festival — and our community — stronger.
Being a good neighbor isn't only about having a business nearby. It's about showing up, building relationships, supporting local traditions, and becoming part of the community around you.
For Murphy Insurance Agency, that philosophy has been part of doing business for nearly 90 years.
Nearly 90 Years of Local Service
Murphy Insurance Agency is a locally owned, independent insurance agency that has been serving individuals, families, and businesses throughout Massachusetts since 1937.
With offices across the region, including nearby Harvard and Hudson, the Murphy Insurance team helps clients navigate their home, auto, business, life, and personal insurance needs.
But being an independent, local agency also means something more personal.
Rather than simply providing a policy, their team focuses on building relationships with the people and businesses they serve — offering personalized guidance and ongoing support as their clients' needs change.
That connection to community is something Murphy Insurance particularly values when serving Groton.
"Groton is a community that values connection, service, and supporting one another, and we're proud to help protect the people and organizations that make the town such a special place to live and work."
Showing Up for the Traditions That Bring Us Together
One of the things we love about Groton is the number of traditions that give neighbors a reason to come together.
Murphy Insurance has made supporting those traditions part of its own commitment to the community.
The agency supports charitable organizations, programs, and events throughout the communities it serves, including two familiar Groton traditions: the Groton Road Race and GrotonFest.
These events may look very different from one another, but they have something important in common: they create opportunities for people to get outside, connect with one another, support local organizations and businesses, and simply enjoy being part of this community.
And community events don't happen on their own.
They depend on volunteers, organizers, local businesses, sponsors, and neighbors who are willing to contribute their time and resources year after year.
Murphy Insurance is one of those neighbors.
Local Relationships in a Changing World
Insurance — like so many industries — is changing as technology changes the way people expect to access information and services.
This year, Murphy Insurance continues to invest in technology and enhanced client services designed to make it easier for customers to do business with the agency.
But there is something they aren't interested in replacing: the personal, local service that has been at the heart of Murphy Insurance since 1937.
That's an important balance.
Technology can make things faster and more convenient. But when you're protecting your home, your family, your business, or the things you've worked hard to build, sometimes you also want to know there is a real person on the other side who knows your community and is ready to help.
After nearly nine decades, Murphy Insurance continues to combine those two ideas — modernizing how it serves its clients while holding onto the relationships that built the agency in the first place.
A Good Neighbor of Groton
Our Good Neighbors of Groton campaign is about recognizing businesses and organizations that understand that strong communities are built through participation.
Murphy Insurance doesn't just serve communities throughout Massachusetts. It invests in them.
By supporting local organizations, sponsoring community traditions like the Groton Road Race and GrotonFest, and continuing to build relationships with local families and businesses, Murphy Insurance helps strengthen the connections that make towns like Groton special.
We're grateful to have Murphy Insurance Agency supporting GrotonFest Fall 2026, and we're looking forward to welcoming their team — along with all of our neighbors — on Saturday, September 26.
Because sometimes being a good neighbor is as simple as showing up.
And after nearly 90 years, Murphy Insurance knows something about being there when people need you.
